Visiting choir to offer a mixed programme

The second, on April 19, will combine the orchestras and choirs of both Felsted School and Warwick Academy in a similarly varied programme, and take place in the Phoebe Purvis Memorial Hall of Warwick Academy. Tickets ($10) are available from the school (tel. 236-1917).

Both concerts will begin at 7.30 p.m. and benefit the Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association.

*** April 22 is the night for local music fans to party down at the revamped Pier 6 entertainment complex on Front Street. Heading the bill will be US radio producer and record executive Charles (Sir Charles) Dixon who will be joined by Malcolm "Lethal Weapon'' Smith, DJ Doubles, and Spanish Town International. Tickets ($20 advance, $30 at the door) go on sale on April 10 at 27th Century Boutique, Sound Stage, The Source, Dub City and Shannon's.

*** Baroque in Bermuda is planning a Musical Meditation for Good Friday evening, April 21, at St. Andrew's church in Hamilton. The Bermuda Chamber Orchestra directed by John York Skinner, with daughter Flora York Skinner (soprano) and wife Janet Budden (mezzo soprano) as soloists, will present a programme of Bach arias, as well as Lotti's Crucifixus and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater.

Friends of Hospice (Agape House) will be the beneficiaries of the event, for which tickets are available from The Bermuda Academy (St. Andrew's Church hall, Church Street). They will also be sold at the door. The suggested donation is $15-20. 238-4297.
