Hamilton, was formed on March 1, 1996.
Following a 94-95 fundraising campaign which raised $5.2 million, the Trust governs the finances and programmes of five registered Bermudian Charities involved in alcohol and drug abuse treatment, education, prevention and education.
The five charities are: Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Fair Havens Christian Care Association Parent Resource Institute for Drug Education Focus Counselling Bermuda Life Skills Group Since mid-April, the Trust provides funding to an affiliated agency, The Family Learning Centre, for its Alternative Activities and Summer programmes.
The programmes were selected based on their clear link to alcohool and drug abuse solutions The Family Learning Centre's mission is to strengthen children and their families through prevention education and counselling services in partnership with parents and the community.
One of the key roles of the Trust is monitoring the effectiveness of each funded agency and providing bi-annual reports to all funding sources.
The key staff are: Gordon Johnson, Executive Director -Fundraising; Tanis Browning Shelp, Director - Communications; and Austin Warner, Director - Standards and Development.
