According to the Bermuda Diabetes Association, you might have diabetes if you experience the following: Remarkable increased hunger; Unusual thirst; Frequent urination; Fatigue; Rapid unintentional weight loss; Irritability; Blurred vision; Itchiness, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet; Severe abdominal pain associated with sweet smelling breath; and Slow healing cuts, sores or skin infections.

If you feel that you have been experiencing the symptoms of diabetes, consult your doctor.

If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you might be at risk for developing diabetes: Are you over weight? Do you lead a lifestyle which includes very little exercise? Are you over the age of 40? Is there a history of diabetes in your family? (For women) Did you ever have gestational diabetes when pregnant? (For women) Have you ever given birth to a baby weighing 9 pounds or more?
