Annual 'Talent Explosion' set for City Hall Theatre

What started as a recital of Marcelle Clamens' vocal students some years ago has now grown into an annual 'Talent Explosion' which gets bigger and broader in content every year.

Sponsored by Hanover Re and the ACE Group, this year's show, presented by Mrs. Clamens and MGC Productions, includes singing, dancing, fashion, music, and history, and as such promises to be the best-ever showcase of Bermuda talent and creativity.

Set for November 5 at City Hall Theatre, 'Talent Explosion' will feature Bermuda School of Music faculty members David France (violin) and Louise Southwood (classical guitar), as well as 2008/2009 Teen Idol Candace Furbert, a fashion sequence by JaKoma Entertainment, the Warwick Academy Jazz Orchestra, singers Lamont Robinson, Makeila Astwood and Mia Chambray, jazz band Mohawk Radio, dancers from the Bermuda School of Russian Ballet, and a sequence from Dr. Kim Robinson's play, 'Emancipation: A Love Story', as well as surprise acts. Musical backing will be provided by The Zone band.

Showtime is 7.30 p.m. and tickets (general admission $35, patrons $70) are on sale at the Christian Bookstore and 27th Century Boutique. They will also be sold at the door. Refreshments will be available.

The event is a fund-raiser which provides scholarships for arts students. To date, MCG Productions has donated $45,000 to deserving candidates.

More patrons are welcomed, and anyone wishing to become a patron is asked to e-mail Mrs. Clamens at mgcproductions@logic.bm
