Artists planning to compete for the Charman Prize must submit their applications by Monday.

Entries will be exhibited at Masterworks, with the winner awarded $10,000, sponsored by Axis Capital Holdings CEO and president John Charman.

Artists are required to hand in application forms including a biography and a $30 application fee.

Actual artwork will be accepted between January 4 and January 8.

Judges are Masterworks artist-in-residence Barbara Russell, Susan Menconi, a partner of Menconi and Schoelkopf LLC Fine Art in New York City, and art critic and Philadelphia teacher James Toogood.

The competition is open to all resident Bermudians and non-Bermudians who have lived here at least six months prior to the entry deadline.

Tom Butterfield, founder and creative director of Masterworks said: "We're delighted to once again host the Charman Prize. Previously the shows have been three weeks long and this year's show is on exhibit for almost three months, so it gives the opportunity for locals to see the talent that the Charman Prize draws out. In its third year, we are expecting an extraordinary exhibit."

The winner will be announced at a February 5 reception.

Applications are available at Masterworks, artmworks@logic.bm or www.bermudamasterworks.com under 'experience'.
