He is Wor. Bro. Derek Emery. His ordinary calling is that of Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Burrows Lightbourn Ltd.

The installation at Freemasons Hall on Reid Street in Hamilton was attended by the Provincial Grand Master of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Bermuda, Rt. Wor. Bro. St. Clair Tucker accompanied by Honorary Grand and Provincial Grand Officers.

Wor. Bro. Emery was installed in a most exemplary manner by his predecessor Wor. Bro. Michael Simmons. The latter was lauded at the banquet following the installation for his flawless delivery of the ritual.

Bermuda Garrison was founded in 1924.

Originally it was a travelling military Lodge with members drawn in the main from British Army and Navy forces stationed here.

When its membership fluctuated from the turnover of the armed forces, its strength in numbers was then drawn from expatriates in the Bermuda Police Service.

Today, although the membership still includes members of the Bermuda Police Service and Prison Service, it is thoroughly civilianised.
