The East End Flower Alley is hosting its Flower-Peutic workshop tonight.

When co-owners Ali Bardgett and Claire Bleekers first started the shop, they wanted to hold workshops, both for therapeutic reasons and for people who wanted to discover more about themselves.

"For corporate team building, it is fantastic if you have a team that are not gelling," said Mrs. Bardgett.

"You could give the managing director the role of cutting the flowers or filling the buckets, something that is way outside of his scope, but if that is not done right you've got a big problem.

"You have to get outside of your comfort zone and if you are normally heavy handed, you have to be very delicate with the flowers and the flowers will guide you. Once you've snapped a few orchids, you'll soon get light on your hands, rather than heavy handed."

In addition, they are on a mission to inform the public that just about anything from a boot to a teapot can be transformed into a vase.

The event takes place tonight at the East End Flower Alley, 3 Bridge Street, St. George's. Ring 297-1929 to reserve a spot.
