Excitement anticipated at Teen Jam and Dancer's Showcase this weekend
Two events billed as the summer teen affair of the year will take place during the Labour Day weekend.
Teen Jam was originally scheduled for last weekend, but was postponed due to Hurricane Danielle. This event will be held at Snorkel Park on Sunday, while the second Dancer's Showcase is taking place at Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts on Labour Day, Monday.
Bermuda Entertainment organiser Stuart Derosa said the events, which feature the likes of top R&B recording artist Trina and BET's 106 and Park TV personality Rocsi, had to now take place on separate occasions because of their schedules.
The first event with Trina will take place on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Snorkel Park.
It is a safe, fun, kid, teen and family friendly event, said Mr. Derosa. "These are PG13 events and there will be no explicit lyrical content coming from the artists local or abroad," he explained.
"These are events for people of all ages, but more so aimed at being a back to school Teen Jam. There will be no alcohol sales during either event."
Dancer's Showcase will feature Rocsi and Star Child along with the A-Team, Bermuda Squad, 1 Stylez Crew, Bermuda's King of the DanceHall, International Street Dancers and many more.
"In addition there will be popular DJs spinning the tunes throughout the evening. The night starts at 5 p.m. and showtime is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m."
Tickets are $35 for Teen Jam and $25 for Dancer's Showcase, although Teen Jam ticket holders get in free for the second event. They are available at Kit N Caboodle and all Jamaican Grill outlets. For more information call 505-3490 or 504-0321.
