In 1980 one in 10,000 children were diagnosed with autism. Today, one in 150 children are diagnosed with it each year.
Sixty-seven children are diagnosed every day in the United States.
A new case is diagnosed almost every 20 minutes.
Boys are four times more likely to develop it than girls.
There is no medical detection or cure for autism.
Based on the 2000 Bermuda census it is estimated that as much as 100 children in Bermuda have autism.
There could be as many as 425 persons in Bermuda living with some form of autism.
