Festival working for more 'Not the Um Um Show' performances

Bermuda Festival organisers are trying to organise more 'Not the Um Um' performances after the four scheduled shows sold out in less than six hours on Monday morning.

Bermuda Festival artistic director Karen Pollard said fans of the satirical comedy revue were online booking tickets at 5 a.m. and all four shows were sold out by 10.30 a.m. – a total of 1,512 tickets.

She said: "People were sat up waiting for the website to go live."

Ms Pollard denied the bulk of tickets had been presold to corporate donors and said only about ten percent went to sponsors, benefactors and patrons.

She said: "We are trying our very best to arrange some additional shows but two of the performers are off-Island, there's a lot of e-mails going back and forth.

"But I am pretty optimistic there is going to be at least one additional show.

"People should watch the website regularly to see whether other shows have been added.

"It is absolutely amazing. We try to get the right number of nights right when we plan the festival but there is always one we don't get right."
