National Gallery welcomes new trustees
The Bermuda National Gallery (BNG) has three new trustees to help them meet the challenges of a changing world.
Dr. Kim Dismont-Robinson, Folklife officer, the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs; Peter Carey, Director of Development and Community Education, the Family Centre; and Perry P. Trott, senior partner Trott and Duncan are the new trustees.
"As the trustees of the Bermuda National Gallery continue to review and refine its function and provide quality direction to the Executive Director, Lisa Howie, and her management team, it is very important that we are appropriately resourced to understand and meet new challenges," said BNG Chairman Gary L. Phillips.
Mr. Phillips said he was delighted to welcome the newcomers.
"They all have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the arts, the community and business," he said.
He said that Dr. Kim Dismont-Robinson brings an educational background and experience in cultural history and literature that will be extremely valuable as they develop their programming for the future.
Dr. Dismont-Robinson has agreed to serve on the Education and Programming committee at the BNG.
"Mr. Peter Carey has worked closely with the gallery on a very successful art outreach programme, Youth Camera Action," said Mr. Phillips. "Peter's transition to the Board as a trustee will help us develop further relationships with the community."
Mr. Carey will serve on BNG Marketing and Revenue Development committees.
"We are equally excited to welcome to the Board of Trustees Perry Trott, senior partner with the law firm of Trott and Duncan," said Mr. Phillips. "Perry is extremely interested in the arts and has agreed to assist in the areas of business and membership development to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Bermuda National Gallery."
The BNG is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
