ON THE ARTS SCENE with Nancy Acton
International ceramics exhibition moves to Elliot Gallery
The International Contemporary Ceramics travelling exhibition, formerly at the Bermuda Society of Arts' Edinburgh Gallery, re-opens this evening in the Kaleidoscope Foundation's Elliot Gallery in Devonshire.
The new venue, with its open beams, wooden floors, and windows casting a beautiful light on the work, gives the show a whole new look, and also permits the addition of new work by the invited artists and additional artists, including Sylvia Mae Hudgeon and Marie Wilson, as well as work by students of Somersfield Academy, Montessori Preparatory School and Sandys Secondary Middle School.
Internationally-renowned potter Jane Hamlyn, who will be present at tonight's opening, will discuss the exhibition and pottery in general.
The opening reception is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., during which refreshments will be served, and there will be a donations bar.
