Saying 'I do' to a stronger marriage
Valentine's Day, and its roses, chocolates and declarations of love, has passed. Two weeks on, Heart-to-Heart Ministries is offering help to couples interested in building on their lives together. A seminar featuring a host of overseas experts will be broadcast live this Saturday in the Willowbank Conference Centre in Somerset. As explained by Mildred and Allan Hunt of Heart-to-Heart Ministries, the event aims to help couples understand the higher purpose of marriage and "give practical insight" to everyday issues.
Presenters include Beth Moore of Living Proof Ministries, Del Tackett of Focus on the Family and authors John Trent, Gary Smalley and Gary Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Hunt have been married for 39 years, a success they attributed partially, to knowledge gained from one of the seminar's presenting groups, Focus on the Family. "Marriages that are in trouble will learn concepts that will strengthen their relationship, while stronger marriages will be encouraged and inspired to help others," Mrs. Hunt stated. "We saw a couple that had been married for about 28 years, separated and were facing divorce. When exposed to the concepts of marriage relationship, a full turnabout occurred. "After the first session, they decided to return to their marital home, and have now celebrated 36 years of marriage with their children and grandchildren." The seminar will be simultaneously broadcast in Canada, the Caribbean and the United States between 10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Tickets are $150 for couples and $80 for individuals, and includes lunch.
