Sterling to deliver BNG lecture
Created: Oct 20, 2008 11:00 AM
Susan Sterling, the new director of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC, is the speaker at tomorrow's lunchtime lecture at the Bermuda National Gallery. Entitled 'Women in the Visual Arts', it begins at 12.30 p.m. Admission is free for BNG members, $5 for others.
Ms Sterling's career and its 21-year-history is extensive. Her presentation will focus on the often-overlooked contributions which women have made to art history. The museum was founded at age 60 by Wilhelmina Holladay, and is the only one in the world dedicated exclusively to recognising the contributions of female artists.
