Emmanuel Methodist Church, Middle/Whale Bay Roads, Southampton, presents their 140th Anniversary Celebratory concert. The programme will feature the Somerset Brigade Band, the Ambassadors of Harmony (Wesley Methodist Church's Male Choir), Christ Church Warwick Bell Ringers, Calum Maule, trumpet soloist and the Emmanuel Methodist Church Choir & friends at 7.30 p.m. For tickets ($20), call 238-1945 or see an EMC member.
A new exhibit featuring organic materials in art opened at The Elliot Gallery last night. "Artful Organics: A Montage" features five local artists including: Ronnie Chameau, known for her Banana Dolls and Angel Ornaments; Fibre Artist Gale Bellew showing Hairlock Paintings, which she created and trademarked; Bermudian Bob Patterson, a well known Bermudian Cabinet Maker showing his miniature furniture and seedpod jewellery; Ronnie Lopes with his Outdoor 'Stick" made Furniture; and Gail Graham who tats silk into lace. Public demonstrations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. when some of the artists will be demonstrating and discussing their art forms. The Gallery is also open to the public and entry is free. Bermuda College Downtown Recruit Lunchtime Sessions will take place every Monday afternoon at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce. The aim is to turn unexpected career changes into a positive experience. Lunchtime sessions are free and open to the public.
