August 30Mothers Against Destructive Devices (MADD 2) rally at Victoria Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mothers are being called on to take a stand. Speaker Barbara Rogers of Pennsylvania, director of the Christ Like Skills Programme, will be speaking on family life skills. Following the rally there will be a Parent Support Group held at the Evening Light Pentecostal Church on Parsons Road in Pembroke every Monday starting October 6 and will continue until June 1, 2009.Sand Sculpture Competition presented by the Bermuda Department of Tourism in association with the Bermuda Institute of Bermuda Architects, at Horseshoe Bay, Southampton. The Walking Club of Bermuda meets every Sunday at 7 a.m. and the group walks for six to seven miles. These walks are free and all are welcome. There are also cut-off points for those who do not want to walk the full distance. Meet in the parking lot at each location at 7 a.m. for a 7.10 a.m. start. Bermuda Federation of Musicians and Variety Artists/Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Social Rehabilitation 'Jazz Command Performance', new Berkeley Institute, Pembroke, 6 p.m. Featuring Bermuda's number one jazz band, 'The Unit', plus Rickeisha Binns, Aimee Bento, Lavette Phillips-Fuentes and Sia Spence. The Bermuda National Gallery is to again play host to Princeton University's renowned all male a cappella group, The Princeton Tigertones. The popular Tigertones will give a special lunchtime concert at the BNG from 12.30 p.m. to 1.15 p.m. Tickets are $5 available at the door (free for BNG members).

MotherBaby International Film Festival (MIFF) will launch its international debut in Bermuda. This three-day world-class event features powerful and inspiring films that explore issues around pregnancy, parenting and birthing. (2) From the Fay and Geoffrey Elliott Collection: 'U-505 Captured', an exhibit telling the remarkable story of the capture off western Africa and the hiding in Bermuda of the submarine U-505.
