Fairy Tale Writing Workshop will be held at the Bermuda Youth Library for children aged 7 to 11 who like writing. On the November 13 the children will have a book launch. Bermuda National Gallery Artists talk from 12.30 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. Free for members; $5 non-members. Biennial artist Graham Foster will speak informally on his art, his inspirations, his portfolio and future projects.

November 11

The St. George's Foundation and the St. George's Corporation invites the public to a short ceremony at 4 p.m. to unveil the 400th Anniversary Monument dedicated to the Sea Venture survivors. The monument will be placed on Barry Road, at the crest of the hill, between Drew's Bay and Fort St. Catherine.

The Centenary United Methodist Women will be holding its annual Christmas Tea and Sale from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Special features include Afternoon Tea, Christmas Crafts, baked goods and plants. Don't miss this popular community event where old friends gather and new friends meet. Stephenson Memorial Hall, Collectors Hill and South Road, Smith's Parish.

November 12

The St. George's Foundation hosting a book signing and lecture by Dr. Michael Jarvis. He will discuss and sign copies of his new book 'In the Eye of All Trade — Bermuda, Bermudians, and the Maritime Atlantic World 1680-1783'. He will also give a special lecture entitled 'In search of Sir George A Historian's Pilgrimage to Somers World'. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. It is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The World Heritage Centre. Tickets are $25 per person for the reception and lecture. Advance reservations are available for $75 per person and will include a signed copy of the book, In the Eye of All Trade. Bermuda National Gallery Art Lecture: Tumelo Mosaka, co-juror of the 2010 Bacardi Limited Biennial to speak on Beyond the Frame: how contemporary artists are moving beyond traditional representations and taking risks with conventional methods in order to capture a world in constant flux. Bermuda Diabetes Association will host the annual 5K Friends and Family Walk to Fight Diabetes. The Walk starts at 8.45 a.m. from Cedarbridge Academy. Registration for each family participating is $10.

The third Annual Economic Empowerment Zones Agency 'For The People' Community Street Festival' was postponed due to inclement weather. The event is a combined effort of the Economic Empowerment Zones Agency (EEZA), The Centre and The Chewstick Foundation. The event takes place in North East Hamilton on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

November 14

In honour of World Diabetes Day a church service will be held at Christ Church in Devonshire on that day at 11 a.m. The service will be conducted by The Revd. Canon James Francis, along with board members of Bermuda Diabetes Association.

Tomorrow's Voices Bermuda's Autism Early Intervention Centre Social Skills Training For Youth With Disabilities: Youth and adults with disabilities typically have trouble with social interaction. Research suggests that social skills development is a critical need for this population and a predictor of future success. This training will analyze the problem of social skills deficits and provide strategies to increase social skills proficiency in youth and

Garden Club of Bermuda's Christmas in November will be held at Huntley Manor, Middle Road, Paget from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission $20 for adults and $10 for children, ticket price includes one soft drink and entry to the ground floor of the house, garden and tree house. The house will be decorated with flower arrangements done by the Club's award-winning designers. Parking will be available location will be announced closer to the date. Added attractions include sale of Christmas themed crafts, a plant sale, bake sale and raffles.

Bermuda Diabetes Association is holding Denim for Diabetes Day. The public are invited to support Denim for Diabetes Day Fundraising Telethon, which will be aired on ZBM TV9 from 8 p.m. - 12 a.m. Lock in your pledges and help us achieve our goal. All proceeds are slated for the Bermuda Diabetes Association's building fund. The Bacchanalian Society of Bermuda is hosting a Wine Tasting Competition Fundraiser for the Continental Society of Bermuda. The event takes place at the National Sports Centre Pavilion, North Field, Frog Lane, Devonshire. For more information please ring 291-1474. Admission for first-time participating teams is $30 per person. Those teams, which have attended previous events, pay $20 per person. The Fairmont Hamilton Princess 125th Anniversary Celebration. December 4 - 24

The Fairmont Hamilton Princess will host its annual Teddy Bear Tea. The children's Christmas tea is served daily between 2.30 p.m. and 5 p.m. An etiquette class will be held on December 5, 12 and 19. Children are encouraged to bring a brand new teddy bear or other stuffed animal which in turn will be donated to various Bermuda charities for families in need. On Saturdays and Sundays, children will enjoy a special storytelling with Santa Claus at 3.30 p.m.

December 5
