Thirty models line up for fashion show
Organisers of a fashion show are promising it will be the 'hottest and sexiest' the Island has seen.
'Into the Night', at the Berkeley Institute tomorrow, is being presented by Parfait Cosmetics and its managing make-up artist Terenay Bascome said her aim was to produce a show different from many shows seen on Bermuda's catwalks.
Miss Bascome says the event will also have a Salsa dance component, and a make-up and a hair design element. It will also feature a special performance by an artist known as PROPA.
Fashions will come from Secrets, Eve's Garden, IM Vintage, Bra Boutique, Loveit, Shannon's, Klimaxx, Calais, Roxzy's Fashion and the 27th Century Boutique. Make-up and artists will come from Parfait Cosmetics. Thirty models will be taking part.
Ms Bascome said: "The show will feature fall fashions, we will have a hair theme, high fashion make-up and there is going to be some choreography mixed in with the themes."
On being excited about her debut production, she said: "I guess so, yeah I am. I haven't had time to think about it."
She began putting together the production because she felt that there was a need to take local fashion shows up a notch.
"I wanted something different from usual fashion shows in Bermuda," she said. "I am also looking for it to flow with no gaps, because I am one who sits in the audience who doesn't like gaps.
"So, hopefully this is going to be a show that will flow."
Her love of fashion began as a teenager, when she would beautify her friends before heading out for a night on the town.
"As far as modelling and being in fashion shows, I became really interested in the make-up, so I went away and did a course on it.
"From there I worked at Trimingham's and they trained me more and then after that I just freelanced and now I am on my own doing it."
Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door and are available at Parfait Cosmetics, in the Emporium Building on Front Street, or Secrets in the Washington Mall. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
