Organisers have attached a caution sign to Saturday's Extreme Comedy Jam for audience members who might be ill-prepared for a real bellyache: 'Warning: Extreme laughter!'

Steve Brown, host of the 'It's Talent' show at the Apollo will be joined by comedians Tiffany Haddish, Nema Williams and Talent Harris.

"We have chosen these four up-and-coming comedians as they are the most popular and hilarious on the comedy circuit today," said Mike Smith of Extreme Entertainment.

"We have a line-up who guarantee us a funny show and Nema Williams is back by popular demand."

Each has a list of credits to their name, he said.

"[Tiffany Haddish] grew up in foster homes across South Central Los Angeles, but it was her excessive talking and imaginary friends that prompted her increasingly flustered social worker to steer her to stand-up comedy by enrolling her into the world-famous Laugh Factory Comedy Camp for Children," said Mr. Smith.

"Since then, she has been making people laugh ever since."

Ms Haddish has appeared on VH1's 'Best Week Ever', HBO's 'Def Comedy Jam', Bill Bellamy's 'Who's Got Jokes' and Comedy Central's 'Reality Bites'.

As an actress, she appeared in 'In the Motherhood' and Comedy Central's 'Reno: 911'. She has also performed live in comedy clubs across Southern California and is behind a comedy programme for inner-city high school students, 'Chuckles Not Knuckles'.

Mr. Smith described Mr. Williams as "one of the funniest, most talented comedians on the circuit".

"His hard-hitting, fast-paced, laugh-out-loud-funny stand-up show has made him a featured college act for the Black Comedy Tour and the Comedy Cabaret Tour, earning him return appearances at prestigious colleges such as Notre Dame, Howard, Georgetown, and USC," said Mr. Smith.

Mr. Williams counts many television and comedy shows to his credit. He has also appeared in several independent films and is currently working with the National Lampoon franchise on a script that he wrote.

Mr. Harris began performing comedy about nine years ago.

"His exceptional blend of off-the-cuff humour and timely delivery has catapulted him to the top of an impressive list of 'must know' comedians," said Mr. Smith.

"Deemed the official 'King of New York Comedy', Talent continues to headline at the prestigious Caroline's on Broadway, Showtime at the Apollo and BET's 'Comic View' on an ongoing basis.

"He continues to bring audiences to their knees with his hilarious improv and his inimitable knack for storytelling."

Mr. Smith was just as effusive about Mr. Brown, describing him as one of the hottest comics in the industry today.

"His high-pitched voice and high-energy physical antics are the total opposite of what he is known for in the community," Mr. Smith said.

"He is truly multifaceted while focusing on his main goal making you laugh."

The event starts at 9.30 p.m. in the Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre at the Fairmont Southampton on Saturday. General admission is $60; VIP tickets are $85.
