is offering a four-week course entitled `Introduction to Birdwatching'.

The course will be run by Audubon Society President, Andrew Dobson, and Dr.

David Wingate, the Society's vice-President and acclaimed ornithologist.

Previous courses have proved very popular with both novices and experienced birdwatchers and topics to be covered include basic identification skills, resident birds and migration. There will also be two field trips to local nature reserves.

Mr. Dobson said: "There is a growing interest in eco-tourism, especially birdwatching, so it is not surprising that there are an increasing number of keen birdwatchers in Bermuda.

"Over 350 species of birds have been recorded in Bermuda, with some 200 species being recorded annually.'' The first session takes place at the Horticultural Hall, Botanical Gardens on Thursday.

Anyone is welcome and the fee of $40 will benefit the two societies. For more information e-mail info yaudubon.bm or phone 238-3239.
