An aspiring young Bermudian filmmaker spent the weekend filming a music video for up-and-coming singer Twanée Butterfield.

Asha Ludwig is currently enrolled in the New York Film Academy (NYFA) and is approaching the end of her one-year programme.

When given her final thesis project, she immediately knew what direction she would go in. Ms Ludwig and four NYFA crew members flew into the Island, and worked with a few Bermudians as she managed her first big film project.

The 21-year-old student said: "For as long as I can remember I have wanted to direct a music video in Bermuda.

"It would have been cheaper to shoot the music video in New York, but I felt it important to come back to my roots.

"I immediately thought of Twanée when I was deciding on who to approach about this project and with the singer's busy schedule this was a true honour."

Last month Miss Butterfield opened for Aaron Neville and Alicia Keys at the Bermuda Music Festival 08. Miss Ludwig explained that after the music video is edited and presented to her class it will be released to the public. "I am hoping to get it on local television sometime in the New Year," said the film student.

And Miss Butterfield is also hoping to release a CD sometime in the future.

The song, 'Can't Wait', can be heard on www.myspace.com/twanee.
