Bermudian singer Twanee launches new CD
Vocalist Twanée Butterfield has been in the music making business for as long as she can remember and now she's about to embark on a major album project in the US.
Her latest album 'Where I've Been' will be launched on Tuesday during 'Twanée's CD Release Party' at Latin, where there will be a live performance and CD signing.
The CD features songs, which have been recorded over the last 18 months as well as two cover songs, and the event has been designed to offset the costs of recording in the US.
"The purpose of the CD is to raise funds for a major album project, which is expected to begin this month," she said.
"I am presently finalising details of proposals that are being forwarded to me by four renowned platinum producers/writers in Los Angeles with plans to begin co-writing and recording within the first quarter of this year.
"These songs will be a part of my 2010 major album release."
Miss Butterfield, who has been singing since she was two-and-a-half years old and performing publicly from the age of seven, added: "I am exhilarated that this opportunity has been presented to me.
"It feels like the 17 years of hard work and dedication invested into my singing are finally paying off. I can certainly say that in life there are two things that really matter, timing and relationships.
"I thank God for all the people that he has placed in my life, especially my mother Gene Butterfield and mentor and fatherly figure Russ Ford, for the support system that has been provided to assist in making my dream a reality."
The CD had a soft release late last month, but she said: "I would like to thank all persons that have supported me thus far by purchasing my first CD, which was released on Christmas Eve 2009.
"CD's are currently available for $19.95 at Music World, Music Box, Sound Stage, Dub City, and Caesar's Pharmacy in the western end of the Island."
In addition to Miss Butterfield's live performance some of the Island's top DJ's such as D' General, Juggling Jason, Mikey B, and Double S will be spinning tunes throughout the night.
CD's will be available for purchase at the event and also if you have already purchased a CD, you can have it personally autographed.
Her music is available and she can be contacted through www.myspace.com/twanee.
Tickets $25 are are limited to 300 people. Ticket venues will be announced.
The event begins at 7.30 p.m. and ends at 1 a.m. at Latin on Victoria Street.
