Blagojevich's wife mulling reality TV spot
CHICAGO (AP) — Ousted Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's wife will decide soon whether to be on a reality TV show in the Costa Rican jungle, a defence attorney said Monday.
But Patti Blagojevich has not yet made a deal to be on the NBC show "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here," one of the impeached governor's defence attorneys, Sheldon Sorosky, said in a telephone interview. Her husband, the 52-year-old impeached governor, faces federal corruption charges.
He allegedly schemed to sell President Barack Obama's US Senate seat and use the muscle of the state government to squeeze companies and individuals for campaign money.
"I honestly have no idea whether she's going to do it or not, but obviously she's going to have to make a decision soon because I think the show starts in June," Sorosky said. "As soon as I know I will let everybody know because there are no secrets."
Blagojevich himself was offered a chance to be on the show in which celebrities live in the Costa Rican jungle with some being voted off on a weekly basis.
Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to the charges. As a condition of his bond, though, he cannot leave the United States.
