Despite a delayed start, Sybil did not disappoint
We were promised a "fabulous" show and Sybil Barrington did not disappoint.
In fact there were so many divas to entertain us, the stage was just not big enough to accommodate them all.
From Celine Dion to Madonna, Dolly Parton to Lady Gaga, Tina Turner to Beyonce, Sybil's 'Dynamic International Female Impersonators' offered us a musical chocolate box of soft and hard centres.
Beautiful drag artistes from the US and Canada joined the 'Queen of Bermuda' on a journey through the decades of popular music.
This included a nod to one of the Island's own celebrity residents, Catherine Zeta-Jones, as Jason Cozmo came bustling in as Velma from 'Chicago' to perform 'All That Jazz'.
The audience was also treated to a performance by the 'King of Pop', as Criss Edwards performed Michael Jackson's 'Man In The Mirror'.
Admittedly the show didn't start off as 'dynamic'. A half-hour delay due to "technical difficulties" meant the 6 p.m. Saturday show didn't end until 9.45 p.m..
But with a programme of timeless classics and dazzling divas, no one seemed to mind.
Sybil herself was on top form, with humorous digs about how her 'husband' "a bus driver", could no longer afford her.
Neither was the audience spared from the good-natured jibes. Sybil, aka real bus driver Mark Anderson, had warned people not to be late or face public "torture" and she was not joking.
Cheryl, a Bermudian woman who arrived late from her hotel shift, was castigated, but then handed a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
And as for the poor man who left his seat to use the bathroom, only to be accused to "walking off like you're looking for weed", Sybil also had no mercy.
The comic moments of the show brought a nice balance to some of the more serious 'voguing' by some of the artistes, but on the whole no one really took themselves too seriously.
The 'Dynamic International Female Impersonators' included Amanda Roberts, Jason Cozmo, Criss Edwards, Mirkala Crystal, Destiney, and Bermuda's own Sheila Showers.
We were also treated to the incredible voice of R&B/soul singer Meli'sa Morgan, who sang the hits 'Ain't No Way', 'Do Me Baby', 'Fool's Paradise' and 'Love Changes'.
Well done Sybil on a wonderful show.
