New work is all lined up
A new exhibit focusing on the word 'lines' opens at the Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard tomorrow.
Curator Kym Bailey said members were asked to produce art based on what the word meant to them.
"Some have used glass, clay and textiles as well as the traditional oil and watercolours the artists have explored what 'lines' means to them," said Ms Bailey. "From Jonah Jones' seascapes, where the horizon is obscured by a gauzy haze and dashes of paint suggest fish, sea grass or a ripple, to the graceful silhouette of Jon Faulkner's salt-glazed stoneware jugs, the artists' approach is as varied as their mediums.
"Michelle Lindo's popular woodcuts and pen and ink drawings are more literal interpretations of the theme and Mary Tatem's beautiful fused glass pieces explore the abstract possibilities."
Other artists to exhibit include Angela Gentleman, Kok Wan Lee, Charles Knights, Lynn Morrell, Marlene Jantzen and Chris Marson. 'Lines' runs until December 4. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily
