Theresa Airey has exhibited in 17 US states

International photographer Theresa Airey has held major exhibitions in Bermuda, Spain, Italy, the Dominican Republic and Mexico. She has also shown her work extensively, with separate exhibitions in 17 of the 50 US states.

Her work is included in several permanent collections, among them the prestigious Pretenkabinet of the Rijksuniversiteit in Leiden, Holland, the Polaroid Collection of Boston, the Fuji Collection, and the Altos De Chavon Center in Santo Domingo.

Mrs. Airey holds a master of fine arts degree in photography and fine art, and has instructed art at the University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus, Towson State University, and at the Maryland Institute, College of Art.

The Bermuda resident teaches private workshops in her studio in the United States, and hosts annual workshops around the globe.

She gives regular seminars for Photo Plus East, and for numerous conferences of the Professional Photographers of America, and currently sits on the advisory board for Freestyle Photographic Suppliers.

Mrs. Airey is the author of books on digital photo art and creative photo printmaking, as well as 'Bermuda, the Quiet Years', and 'Bermuda Then and Now'.

Her work has been published in numerous art and photography magazines, and she was one of six international photographers featured in 'The Yearbook' of 1999.

She is also the principal photographer of the book 'Gentleman, Joe Lee', about the life of golf course architect by Ron Whitten.

Her work is featured in numerous photography books, most recently 'Photography in the 21st Century', of which she has the cover image.

She is best known for her skill in restoration, infrared photography, and "crossing the boundaries" between traditional printmaking, painting, drawing, photography and digital art by using the computer as a tool to integrate, orchestrate, and create new images.
