Warwick parish will hold a fair on Saturday to 'showcase its rich cultural diversity.'

The festivities, to be held at T.N. Tatem Middle School field, will include a soccer match, Warwick Gombeys, Warwick musicians and the Island Pipee Band, among other entertainment.

"We'll have Filipino dancers, the Portuguese dancers of Bermuda, the African Dancers of Bermuda, gombeys and representatives from the sailing community like Peter Bromby and Lee White," said fair organiser Eugene Vickers.

"Not many parishes can boast two majorette troupes and of course no other parish can claim our Bermuda Regiment Band. They will all be there," added Mr. Vickers.

The function will also recognise some of the parish's outstanding citizens and will also collect donations for the Lorraine Rest Home.

"We have worked hard to make this a celebration that showcases the people of our parish," noted the organiser.

Warwick Parish Council Chairman, Elder Kevin Santucci said: "It's the first time we've held this type of community celebration. So many people in the parish are excited about it and are already requesting that it be an annual event."

Mr. Santucci continued: "It will be a time to relax or just commune with friends and neighbours – it's all about building a stronger community one step at a time."

"We are Warwick – the heart of Bermuda, every type of person who lives in this country is represented here and we are proud of that. This is what the celebration is all about."

The Warwick Parish fair will be held tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and admission is free.
