A women’s empowerment group is holding a week-long retreat for female teenagers.The Teen DIVA Empowerment Retreat starts today, and is organised by the LGIT Empowerment Institute.“We will talk to them about attitudes, giving and receiving respect, self-esteem, integrity, appropriate dressing for different occasions, age-appropriate behaviour, workplace, social and dining etiquette, consequences of actions, getting what they are worthy of and living an empowered life, amongst other topics,” said organiser Patrice Hayward.The retreat is open to teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17.A range of guest speakers will include executive director of the Centre Against Abuse Laurie Shiell.“We intend for this retreat to be exciting and interactive, with team-building games and challenges,” Ms Hayward said.The course costs $150.
