The father of special needs boy Mihdi Joon Brock has released a photo book recounting the journey to save his son’s life.Marvin Brock said ‘The Photographic Story of Mihdi Joon and the Mission to Save a Child’s Life’ should appeal to other parents of special needs children or those struggling to take care of a chronically ill loved one.It details his son’s medical and emotional journey after being diagnosed with a rare disorder called progressive kyphoscoliosis at six months old.The disorder caused the youngster’s backbone to be severely curved, in the shape of an S.Mihdi’s parents were told by doctors that he wouldn’t live to see double digits. However, the Bermudian teen has survived with assistance from traditional and Oriental medicines. On May 24, Mihdi beat the odds and celebrated his 15th birthday.Throughout his son’s childhood Mr Brock travelled throughout North America in search of a solution for his illness.He ultimately found a combination of Chinese medicine, alongside traditional Western medicine, was the best method of treatment.The book uses pictures to depict the many ups and downs experienced by the family.The photo book is available online at Amazon.com.
