Where to party this New Year’s Eve

Adults only: Fancy a break from the children. Cambridge Beaches is having an adults only New Year's Eve party.

There’s no greater reason to get dressed up and celebrate than New Year’s Eve. Whether you are looking to dance until 5am or just enjoy a night out with the family, here’s a list of some of the awesome happenings scheduled for December 31.

Quality Entertainment has taken over the mega tent at Pier Six on Front Street to host Golden Goddess New Year’s Eve. Guests will be treated to a light show, a stellar music line-up (DJs Chubb, Keem, Smokey and Hershey), a special cocktail at the door, hors d’oeuvres and chocolate covered strawberries. There will also be models painted in gold, a complimentary champagne toast at midnight and party bags. General admission tickets are $50; VIP tickets are $75-$100. Champagne New Year, on the lower level of Pier Six, promises glowing bars, a lounge-type set up, dessert bar and surprise live entertainment. Roulette tables, food stations and a full-service, open bar will be available outside. General admission is $150; student tickets, available until December 24, are $125. If you enjoyed the Heineken Wet & Wild party by OffLevelBDA, the Sophisticated Ignorance II New Year’s Eve bash might be the one for you. Sounds crews YGS, New Era and DJ Rusty G will help ring in the New Year with a mix of hip hop, dance hall, pop and electronic music at Latin Rumbar. Tickets, $30, in advance and $40 at the door.

Come decked out in your best semi-formal wear for the Back to the Future Dinner Party, hosted by comedian Jah Simmons. Organisers promise a night of great live entertainment and cocktails, followed by a sumptuous dinner and after-party with champagne toast, starting at 10pm at Coco Reef Resort. Top DJs D’General, Jugglin J and New Era will perform. Tickets are $75 for just the after-party or $125 for the whole shebang, and are available at Secrets and Kit N Caboodle. Will Black and Voodoo Wahoo will host Rockin’ Mardi Gras at Hog Penny. Expect high-energy music, authentic decor and complimentary beads and French Quarter masks for late dinner patrons. The after party officially kicks off at 10.30pm. Dress code is smart casual. Dinner reservations are required.

Caledonian Society of Bermuda is bringing back its popular Hogmanay Ball after a three-year hiatus. The event at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess begins with a cocktail reception (cash bar) from 7.30pm and rendition of Auld Lang Syne at 8pm, followed by a Scottish-themed dinner with wine. The party continues with DJ King Arthur until 3am. Tickets to the black-tie affair are $155 each or $90 for under-18s. Proceeds go towards various community charities. Some other great options ...

Cambridge Beaches will host an adult-only event, featuring a four-course meal, champagne and music by DJ Craig (Bubbles) Darrell. The cost is $89 per person, plus 17 percent gratuities. Reserve seating on 234-0331.

New Year’s Eve in St George’s is a great family-friendly way to ring in 2014. The fun kicks off at 9pm in King’s Square. Come out to the free event for fireworks, live entertainment and all that the East End has to offer.

441 Productions will present the New Year’s Eve Dance Party in the Poinciana Ballroom at Fairmont Southampton. Entertainment will be provided by Working Title and Toronto band, The Disco Rebels. Tickets to the show portion of the night are $79 per person. A limited number of dinner and show tickets, ranging from $148 to $173, are available. For more information telephone 238-8000 ext 6623.

As a final option, Party Positive will host the New Year’s Eve Warehouse Party with entertainment by DJs Siid James, Denis Danger Public and Kade. All you have to do is bring your own beverage to 81 Reid Street for the party, which lasts from 11pm to 5am. Tickets are $40 and available from www.pTix.bm.
