Trio jumped, beaten after concert
A cycle collision sparked a mass fight near Horseshoe Bay beach in Southampton which put a man in hospital in the early hours of Sunday.
The victims, a 21-year-old Sandy's man, and a 24-year-old man and a 17-year-old from Southampton man were walking up the hill from the beach to South Road when a bike travelling up the hill collided with the 17-year-old Southampton man, who pushed the rider off the cycle.
The rider and passenger then got off the cycle, and the riders and passengers of two other bikes following the first also stopped their cycles and got off and attacked the three victims, punching them and hitting them with crash helmets before getting back on their cycles and escaping.
The 21-year-old Sandy's man was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of facial injuries and is currently in stable condition on a general ward.
The other two victims had relatively minor injuries (facial cuts, abrasions and swelling) but declined medical attention.
The suspects are described as six black men believed to be riding two orange Yamaha V50 cycles and a white Peugeot Looxor cycle.
Inquiries into this incident are underway and Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234 1010.
