Driver has lucky escape

The driver of a Toyota Yaris emerged unscathed from an accident which saw his car roll over several times before landing on its hood.

The man was driving on Middle Road at 3.30 a.m. on Saturday when it collided with a can that was exiting a bus lay by and turning onto Stadium Lane in Warwick.

The car rolled over several times before stopping 80 yards from the collision site. The 23-year old Pembroke man was not injured but two women, both 22, who were passengers, were taken to the hospital and sustained minor injuries. They were later released. The driver of the van was also uninjured.

Police say the car was “extensively damaged” while the van only received moderate damage. Police are investigating.

On Friday Police attended North Shore Road where an Opel Station Wagon and a Honda motorcycle collided at the junction of Band Room Lane.

The car was emerging from a private driveway, turning east, when the collision happened.

The rider of the cycle, a 32 year old Southampton man, sustained facial injuries and was taken hospital where he was treated and released.

His bike was extensively damaged while the car received moderate damage. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact P.c. Kyle Wheatley on 295-0011.
