  • The clinic moved to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in 1998.
  • It provides medical services and supplies to clients who are assessed and declared unable to pay for such services.
  • The Bermuda Hospitals Board credit office assesses clients to determine their ability to pay for health insurance.
  • According to Government figures between 1,300 and 1,500 clients use the facility with 2,273 visits to the clinic last year.
  • In 2005 the clinic increased the hours of operation and physician coverage, as well as time for clinic patients who were admitted to the hospital as inpatients.
  • There are currently two part-time physicians, two full-time nurses, one full-time porter and one full-time unit assistant.
  • In 2006/07 fiscal year, the Bermuda Hospital Board received $2,521,522 from the Ministry of Finance to fund the operation of the Medical Clinic and the HIV Clinic.
  • Half is spent on HIV medications, which are free to patients.
  • Patients are also provided with supplies, diabetic materials, incontinent care needs, diagnostic testing, pharmacy and physiotherapy services.
