Woman denies murdering her boyfriend at monthly arraignments

A woman pleaded not guilty to murdering her boyfriend when she appeared at Supreme Court yesterday.

Andrina Tamara Smith, 25, is accused of stabbing Edward Dill at the home they shared in Cedar Park, Devonshire, on October 16 last year.

She entered her plea during a brief appearance before Puisne Justice Carlisle Greaves at the monthly arraignments session, and was bailed until her next appearance before the court.

The next case was that of a 30-year-old man accused of breaking into a woman's Warwick home and seriously sexually assaulting her on January 7 this year.

He is accused of robbing the same victim of $500 during an incident in Paget the next day and also assaulting her.

The man — who cannot be identified for legal reasons — pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and his case was adjourned.

In a separate matter Fremont Swan, 23, of Palm Valley, Southampton, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to Candrea Wolffe and Antonio Myers by driving a car while impaired on January 22 last year. He also admitted causing actual body harm to Stephanie Stovell by driving recklessly on Middle Road on the same date and having a blood alcohol reading above the legal limit.

Pre-sentence reports were ordered, and Swan will be sentenced at a later date.

Also before the court was 22-year-old Muhammad Dawud Nasir, of Fritholme Gardens, Paget. He pleaded not guilty to wounding Dayvon Tucker on September 9 last year with intent to do him grievous bodily harm. However, he admitted a lesser charge of unlawfully wounding Mr. Tucker, which was accepted by the prosecution. The matter was adjourned, and Nasir granted bail.

All of the cases will be come before the court again at the next arraignments session on May 1, when dates for trials and sentences are likely to be set.
