Police name dead man
A man who died on a flight from New York to Bermuda was named yesterday by Police as 58-year-old Reginald Emery, from Southampton.
Mr. Emery suffered a cardiac arrest half-way between LaGuardia and Bermuda International airports on Monday afternoon.
He was pronounced dead shortly after the plane touched down despite the efforts of cabin crew and family members to resuscitate him for around 45 minutes.
The married Southampton resident was well-known as a taxi driver and a former Police officer.
A Police spokesman said yesterday: "The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."
The cause of death is unclear and an autopsy is anticipated, although Police said no foul play is suspected.
Mr. Emery's family did not wish to speak about their loss yesterday.
