A PEMBROKE resident had a rude awakening yesterday morning when a would-be-thief smashed a window in his Cox's Hill home.
Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said the complainant told police that he was asleep at about 6 a.m. when he was awoken by the sound of glass breaking.
He got up to investigate and found someone had thrown a wooden clock through the kitchen window in an effort to gain entry into his home.
Mr. Caines said the man went outside and saw what he believed to be a man making good his escape on a red bicycle.
It was unknown whether anything was missing from the residence, and anyone with information has been asked to contact Central CID on 295-0011 or Crimestoppers Hotline at 1 (800) 623-8477.
Police, meanwhile, thanked the public for its assistance in locating 14-year-old Dishon Burgess, who went missing recently.
However, police are now asking for the public's assistance in locating another missing youth.
Makhi Davis, 12, was last seen on Monday on Happy Valley Road.
He is described at 5ft. 4in. tall, of medium build, brown-skinned and sports a close hair cut. He was last seen wearing light blue denims, black shirt with grey sleeves and a black bubble jacket with fur around the hood.
The youngster is known to frequent the Jones Village area.
Mr. Caines reminded the public that aiding and abetting a minor is a crime and punishable under law.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the 12 year old is asked to contact Detective Constable Rock at the Kakhi Davis Domestic Crime Unit on 195-0011.
