UK man believed to have died from drug overdose
A British man was found dead of a suspected drugs overdose at the weekend.
David Walker, 62, of Pembroke was found dead at a house in Deepdale Road East at 10.45 p.m. on Saturday.
A Police spokesman said: “Officers found the victim lying in an unresponsive state inside the premises. He was subsequently pronounced dead by an on-call physician at the scene. “Following initial inquiries no foul play is suspected.”
According to broadcast reports, the man was found at a vacant property which neighbours claim is a crack house and which has been raided by police on several occasions.
Officers are to carry out an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
[bul]Thieves attacked a 59-year-old man as he sat in his vehicle at the Bull’s Head car park. The man, from Hamilton Parish, said he was assaulted by two men wearing dark hooded tops. He handed over cash and personal items after they demanded money but also suffered a cut to the right side of his head. The incident happened on the third level of the car park at 2.30 p.m. on Friday.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to contact 295-0011.
