The cancellation of the Rosie O'Donnell cruise was yesterday making headlines around the world.
Opposition by church groups to R Family Vacations' visit was reported as far as Russia, with Pravda running the headline: 'Cruise for gay and lesbian families leaves Bermuda out'.
In the United States, newspapers across the country from the San Francisco Chronicle to the Washington Post ran stories.
The New York Times ran a report by Associated Press under the headline: 'Bermuda cut from O'Donnell's gay cruise'.
Meanwhile in the UK, the Daily Mail said: 'Bermuda dropped as gay cruise stop after threat of church protests'.
Gay websites such as Good As You and Gay.com were inundated with comment on the issue, while OutZoneTV.com asked 'Bermuda: A hot bed of homophobia?'.
