Teens ready for maths battle

Children are preparing to battle it out to see who is the top Math student in Bermuda.Already 135 students have signed up for the competition at the Bermuda College. They range in age from 10 to 17 and come from 18 schools across the Island.The Centre for Talented Youth, in affiliation with Johns Hopkins University, is organising the event, which will be held on April 29 at the Bermuda College Lecture Theatre.

Children are preparing to battle it out to see who is the top Math student in Bermuda.

Already 135 students have signed up for the competition at the Bermuda College. They range in age from 10 to 17 and come from 18 schools across the Island.

The Centre for Talented Youth, in affiliation with Johns Hopkins University, is organising the event, which will be held on April 29 at the Bermuda College Lecture Theatre.

Winners will walk away with great prizes like iPods, digital cameras and graphical calculators.

In addition, organiser Riquette Bonne-Smith said many companies are supporting the Math Olympiad and are looking at students’ potential.
