AT our local chess club we have the Kemper Memorial Tournament going on at this time. Although there are some players who don’t come to play on the Tuesday night that they are due to play, it’s still a good tournament.

It is an important skill to visualise the combination that goes into 4-6 moves deep. Well, Chessbase has a workshop that teaches just that. I have lots of books and they do help.
Anyone who’s been playing the game for a long time could tell you how much this could help. If you have a computer there is a web site called chessbase.com where you can get the information about Visualise search in Fritz 10.
An important part of chess is to calculate in your mind, move the pieces and then go through the “what if” in your plan of attack.
