A: Alexa Ray Joel, who inherited her musical talent from her father, apparently also inherited his dark, ethnic looks, not her mother’s blonde beauty. But she says she doesn’t mind at all, because her father’s look is soulful, and as a musician, that can only be an advantage.

Q: Is it true that actors Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson broke up? — A.S.

A: At this moment, yes, but apparently they’ve broken up and got back together numerous times, so they could reunite again. Kate reportedly has told friends that he has a hard time committing, and she got tired of it.

Q: When is>Curb Your Enthusiasm coming back, and will Larry David’s divorce have an impact on the show?

A: The executives at HBO haven’t yet set a premiere date for the sixth season oI>Curb Your Enthusiasm<$>, but it will hit the airwaves sometime later this year. And while Cheryl Hines has been playing a version of the soon-to-depart Laurie David — famous on her own now as an environmentalist and producer of Al Gore’s Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Tru<$>— she, and the character, are expected to remain.

Q: Is Raquel Welch still acting? — M.F.:<$> The 66-year-old actress is still working, if not as much as in previous years. She appeared in a little-seen film last year called, appropriately, Forget About It, but she is in the cast of the upcoming CBS comedy ses The Captain, due to begin its run on the network’s mid-season slate.

Q: What is Kirstie Alley doing? — P.N.

A: Alley recently starred in a TV movie ced Write & Wrong, and is currently involved in a potential series called The Minister ofvine<$>, which wasn’t announced on its network’s — Fox’s —fall-season line-up but could appear later on.

Q: Is that really Vanessa Minnillo with Lindsay Lohan in those pictures with the knife? — .

A:<$> It appears to be. The pictures in question, taken at about 5 a.m. after a night of clubbing in New York last year, show Lohan and a friend — reportedly Minnillo — looking pretty smashed and pointing very sharp kitchen knives at each other. Minnillo hasn’t commented, but observers think the pictures (and many stories about her diva-like behaviour) might be a deterrent to her search for a new television gig, after her contracts with MTV and Entertainmentnight <$>weren’t renewed.

Q:w that Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is ending, what is Matthew Perry doing next? — N.R.

A: Perry is already doing it — he’s filming a comedy-dr called The Laws of Motion<$>, with Hilary Swank, and is preparing to shoot The Beginning of Wisdom, with his actor father, John Bett Perry.

Q: I think actress Naomi Watts is so beautiful. What movies does she have coming out? — M.K.

A:<$> She has a mystery called Eastern Promises due out in September and thriller Funny Games <$>due for release later on. She will take a break after the impending birth of her first child, and after that she has plans to shoot theama Need<$>, with her pal Nicole Kidman, possibly a remake of Alfred Hitchcock’I>The Birds <$>and a drama about the Aids crisis in Africa, We Are Athe Same.

Q: I haven’t seen actress Rosie Perez in anything in a while. What is she doing? — L.B.

A:<$> She co-stars in an upcoming crime drama called The Take and in a comedy with S Rogen called The Pineapple Express.

Q: Is actress Cameron Diaz going out with that magician? I think she is wonderful— M.H.

A: Apparently, Diaz is involved with illusionist Criss Angel, who, after recently completing a stunt of escaping from a box in New York’s Times Square, dedicated it to her and wished her luck on her oming European Shrek tour. They’ve also been seen around together in Los Angeles.
