A: Whitford, formerly of>The West Wing <$>and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, has been mentioned as a possible assistant district attorney on the show now that Sam Waterston’s character is being bumped up to district attorney in the wake of actor Fred Thompson’s departure. Nothing has been decided yet, though, especially since the variouI>Law & Order <$>series were renewed after producer Dick Wolf promised to hold down costs. It’s not known whether Whitford, who earned hefty salaries on his last two series, would fit into this series’ budget.

Q: I think actor Ashton Kutcher is adorable. Is he making any new movies? — L.F.

A: He’s due to shoWhat Happens in Vegas . . . <$>with Cameron Diaz. It’s the story of a couple who get drunk and then get married in Las Vegas. It is, of course, a comedy.

Q: Did actor Sean Connery ever sign to come back as Indiana Jones’ father? — N.G.

A: Unfortunately, no. The fou Indiana Jones <$>film, which has just started production after years in development, is going forward, but without Connery. He maintains that he’s retired from filmmaking, and he also came out of it for this film but decided not to.

Q: I think actress Claire Forlani m CSI: NY is beautiful. Is she dating anyone? — N.

A:<$> Not any more — she married him. Forlani married Scottish actor Dougray Scott, best known in America for playing Ian Hainsworth in Desperate Housewives , in a ceremony in her father’s native Italy a few weeks ago. They had been dating for a year and alf.

Q: I think actress Katherine Heigl is so good in Kned Up. Is she going to come back to Grey’natomy, or just make movies? — D.E.

A: Both. She’s currently filming the comedy Dresses<$>, but her contract has been renewed for the next season of G’s<$>. Like other TV stars, she can make films during the series’ hiatus.

A:<$> She’s set to shoot the thler Wanted<$> and the drama The Senr’s Wife<$>. She’s in discussions to star in the remake of the ca film Gambit<$>, and is producing a film called Goree Girls, the true story of eight prison inmates in the 1940s who formed a country-and-western band. Smight also star.

Q: I love actor Bill Murray. Is he making any new movies? — H.R.

A: Murray, who hasn’t been terribly active lately, is set to start shooting a new movie this summer — a fantasy called City of Ember, produced by Tom Hanks and due for release in Ober of next year.

Q: Is it true that they’re doing a remakf The Big Chill? That was one of my favourite movies ever. Will they do it with the same cast? — C.S.

A:<$> Yes, they are going to do a remake of the classic ‘80s film, but with significant changes: The cast is going to be African-American, led by Regina King (who was a special guest on the most ent season of 24<$>, playing Wayne Palmer’s sister, and was a standout as Ray Charles’ back-up singer / mistress in Ray). And this time, their college years were the 1990s, not the 1960s.
