A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital after his bike collided with a Works and Engineering truck yesterday morning.
The 38-year-old Southampton man was put onto a stretcher by ambulance crew after the crash on The Glebe Road, near its junction with Band Room Lane, in Pembroke, just before noon. A Police spokesman said: “It appears that the truck was parked on the north side of The Glebe Road and the motorcycle was travelling west on the Glebe Road when the vehicles collided as the truck attempted to re-enter the westbound lane.”
He said the motorcyclist was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. A hospital spokeswoman described his condition last night on a general ward as “quite satisfactory”.
The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old man from St. George’s, was not injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
