BDA party thanks those who helped with its soup hand out
The Bermuda Democratic Alliance was out on the streets on Christmas Eve providing a warm supper for those in need.
Members of the party, launched in November, handed out fresh vegetable and barley soup and rolls to members of the public at two locations — Emmanuel Baptist Church in North Hamilton and St Luke's Church, in St David's, feeding about 180 people.
The Alliance also gave out fresh soup at Albouy's Point, City Hall, Victoria Park and alleyways and corners throughout Hamilton where more than 80 people were served in two hours by Michael Fahy, Sean Pitcher, Kiera Petty, Toni Daniels, Michael Branco and Shawn Crockwell.
"It was most gratifying to help those less fortunate during the festive season," said MP Mr. Crockwell. "The gesture was well received and the Bermuda Democratic Alliance looks forward to doing this annually.
"I would like to thank the Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Garden Market and Carlos Amaral for providing the fresh vegetables as well as the supporters of the Alliance that actually made the soup."
