Part-time workers needed to help with 2010 Census

The Department of Statistics is accepting applications for part-time employees to take inventory for the 2010 Census.

The positions provide good pay and are open to all Bermudians with resident status of longer than six months who are able to speak English. There are also positions available for bilingual people in languages such as Spanish and Portuguese.

A spokesperson for the Department of Statistics said the overall aim of Census 2010 was to monitor Bermuda's housing figures, its population and their characteristics.

"Census interviewers play a vital part in taking stock of Bermuda's people and housing and the end results will help the Government put relevant programmes in place for improved development such as housing, health care, roads and parks," the spokesperson added.

While the census period will extend from May 20 to August 31, people interested in the positions can collect application forms from the Department of Statistics office on Cedar Avenue, in Hamilton.

Interested applicants can also apply through the website at www.statistics.gov.bm.
