Improvements to Bermuda Laws Online will make searching for Bermuda's laws simpler and more streamlined.
Attorney General and Minister of Justice Kim Wilson said www.bermudalaws.bm could soon post legislation that is debated in the House of Assembly. She said it was down last week to complete these updates.
Sen. Wilson added: "We have made improvements to the Bermuda Laws Online website to enable us to provide the public with access to the laws in a more timely and user-friendly fashion. This latest step is the evolution of what began as a vision to provide Bermudians instant access to up-to-date domestic legislation online.
"With the new in-house publishing there is the exciting prospect of posting Bills that have been tabled in the House (of Assembly) onto the website. This remains a work in progress pending more details as to its technical and administrative feasibility."
The site will be run by the Ministry of Justice and will include laws in alphabetical order, repealed laws, passed laws not yet in force, and an RSS feed for instant notification of added laws.
Sen. Wilson told the Senate: "The publishing of laws has now been brought entirely in-house as part of the most recent initiative to facilitate a more expedient distribution and also to reduce costs while enhancing the service.
"Over the coming weeks and months the public will continue to see changes as we work to deliver more advanced search features and to expand the scope of information accessible."
