Frank Arnold, the owner of Arnold’s Markets, was charged today with illegally importing carrots and broccoli.Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning Mr Arnold denied two charges of importing the produce, saying he didn’t personally import anything.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner said he felt that while charges were indented against the business with Mr Arnold as the owner, the way they had been drafted accused him personally of importing the produce.“This is badly drafted,” he said. “On the face of it, it cannot be right.”Mr Warner adjourned the matter until tomorrow when Crown counsel Carrington Mahoney said the prosecution would be in a better position to move forward. For the full story, read tomorrow’s Royal Gazette
