Police issue warning after string of burglaries
After a string of burglaries, the Bermuda Police Service has issued a public advisory reminding homeowners to stay vigilant.Four burglaries took place yesterday, including two in Pembroke, one in Southampton and another in St George’s.In one incident on Mount Hill in Pembroke, a 42-year-old man gained entry into a home around 11.15pm while the residents were there.The man left empty-handed and was later arrested by police.In another incident, around 6.40pm, someone gained entry into a home on Smith’s Hill Road in St George’s and stole cash, electronic goods and personal items.Police are still investigating the unsolved burglaries and have asked the public to remain alert and attentive.A Police spokesman said: “All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time.“Also, before retiring to bed at night all windows and doors should be locked with any valuables secured out of sight. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to police on 295-0011.”
