Police officers are promoted

A number of police officers have been promoted. The Bermuda Police Service has announced the promotions of 12 officers this week, at a parade ceremony addressed by National Security Minister David Burch.Officers Tracy Burgess, Barry Richards, Emmerson Carrington, Kuhn Evans and Troy Glasgow were promoted to the rank of Inspector, while Dwight Thompson, Stephen Jackman, Kenten Trott, Albert Williams, Shawn Broomes and Ryan Leera were promoted to Sergeant.Cornelius Marc is to be promoted to Sergeant this Saturday.Mr Burch said: “These officers collectively have 121 years service between them and are Bermudians and expatriate officers, all committed to protecting and serving the people of Bermuda.“Let me first, therefore, thank you for your service and for the dedication you have displayed to the various areas in which you have served over the years.”Mr Burch also thanked friends and family of those promoted.“The stresses of policing are sometimes an untold story and I wish to personally thank you for your continued patience, understanding and support, which enable these men to do the work that is so valued by this community.“Today is evidence of the fact that a career in the Bermuda Police Service can be rewarding. I am sure that as you reflect on your cadet and constable days you recall those men and women in what was then the Force and is now the Service, who provided examples of fine leadership and devotion to duty, and after whom you have styled your own careers.”
