Flights in and out of Bermuda again fell victim to freezing conditions in the US yesterday.

A US Airways flight to Washington, DC, and an American Airlines flight to New York?s JFK Airport were both cancelled early in the day as the winter storm continued to cause havoc in the States.

Meanwhile a JetBlue flight to the Island from the snow-swept JFK Airport was delayed by more than six hours.

An American Airlines flight from New York was also six hours late last night.

However, Continental flights from Newark and Air Canada from Toronto were largely unaffected by the weather.

It comes after a host of cancellations and major delays in Bermuda as a result of the weather on Wednesday.

Hundreds of flights were cancelled after the storm dumped a mixture of snow, sleet, ice and rain on the US coast, while heavy rain and strong winds on the Island added to the problems.

Bermuda International Airport operations manager James Howes said it was hoped the weather would improve and operations would return to normal today. ?Unfortunately, we have still seen quite a number of late flights coming in from the States,? he said. ?But we are slowly getting back to normal.? Passengers are advised to check with their airline for the status of their flights today.
